Karran mantis
The Karran mantis was a non-sentient insect species that was native to the world of Karra.
Biology and appearance
The Karran mantis had six limbs. It used the four rear legs for movement, while the two forelegs had long, spear-like appendages that could be used for attack. The segmented body had a horizontal abdomen and upright head and thorax. The head of the mantis resembled a head of an Arconan.[1]
History
The Karrans used the mantis as a beast of war. It was kept in a state of hibernation in a cave until roused by the Karran. At the time of the Galactic Civil War, there was only one left on the planet. The Karran used it to attack an Imperial base.[1]
