The Regalia of Office was a short story written by Peter Schweighofer, and was published in the Shadows of the Empire Sourcebook.

Plot summary

Lonay, a Black Sun Vigo, had been summoned to Coruscant by Prince Xizor. In preparation to meet with the Xizor and the other vigos, Lonay dressed himself in ornate and expensive jewelry and other fineries. Each piece reminded him of a moment of his life, or his relationship with a being to whom he was connected in some way.
