Iridium (element)/Legends
Iridium was an element that could be mined. Ruusan was said to have significant deposits of iridium.[1] High levels of iridium were also found on the water world Stroiketcy in the Yavin system.[2] The Kathol Rift was thick with both iridium and heglum that had to be scrubbed from the sublight drives passing through its clouds.[3]
Approximately 8,000 years before the Galactic Civil War, Corellian traders discovered pure iridium ore on the planet of Goroth Prime. They traded the ore for flashy technological bagatelles with the primitive Gorothites.[4]
