The ILF-5500 was a model of lifeform scanner manufactured by Idellian Arrays. It was capable of detecting the quantity and species of any lifeforms within its scanning range. The ILF-5500 was also capable of storing "species templates" of up to ten different aliens or creatures, allowing the operator to determine if specific species were present extremely quickly.[1]
