I/O jack
An I/O jack, computer interface jack, input jack,[1] or computer data-jack[2] was a type of interface jack by which some droids, such as an R2-series astromech droid, can control a computer with their scomp link. These jacks were installed into various computer-based systems as a secondary control mechanism in the event that a computer was made inoperable.
History
This type of jack was included on the cockpit computer of the Millennium Falcon. In 3 ABY, R2-D2 used this I/O jack during a conversation with C-3PO about the requisite skills to pilot starships.
Lieutenant Darryn Thyte had a cybernetic arm that included a jack which allowed him to access computer information as long as there was a display screen.[2]
