A hat or cap was an article of clothing that was placed upon the head. It served several purposes, such as protection and for show.

Hats also served to disguise the cranial structure if it were to draw unwanted attention, such as the large conical hat that Master Ki-Adi-Mundi wore while on a mission to Tatooine.[2] Jedi Master K'Kruhk was seen, on many occasions, wearing a large hat. Two bounty hunters during the Clone Wars, Cad Bane and Embo, also wore hats. They could also be used to conceal items. Nico Okarr used his hat to conceal a data-slicing kit.
