A fire node was a valuable luminous gem that had a ruby-red coloration. The luminescent properties of fire nodes were enhanced by exposure to intense light.[2] Fire nodes were part of the advance payment Han Solo and Chewbacca received for running weapons to insurgents fighting against the Corporate Sector Authority on Duroon.[3]
