After Emperor Palpatine's death, the elite brotherhood of his Royal Guards is betrayed by one of their own, Carnor Jax, whose ambition is to put himself on Palpatine's throne. But Kir Kanos escapes the ambush that kills his fellow guardsmen and takes an oath of vengenace that will lead him to cut a bloody swath from one end of the galaxy to the other.
