Rhymer/Legends
Rhymer was a male TIE pilot in the Imperial Navy.[1] By 4 ABY,[2] he became a major, and was the lead pilot for Scimitar Squadron, an elite TIE/sa bomber wing. Flying under the call sign Scimitar 1,[1] Rhymer flew a TIE/sa bomber equipped with an advanced targeting system to increase damage during planetary bombardment.[3]
Prior to 4 ABY's Battle of Endor, Rhymer and his squadron were stationed in the Endor system, with the task of destroying any ground troops or equipment that might land on the Forest Moon of Endor,[2] which contained the shield generator protecting the Galactic Empire's orbiting second Death Star battlestation. During the battle, Rhymer and other TIE pilots were on the Death Star, and attempted to evacuate before the station's destruction.[4] Rhymer wore the standard TIE pilot uniform.[1]
Behind the scenes
Rhymer first appeared in the 1983 original trilogy film Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi,[4] in a scene filmed between February 25 and March 1, 1982 at Elstree Studios's stage 6.[5] He was named in 2000's Death Star II Limited expansion set of Decipher, Inc.'s Star Wars Customizable Card Game.[1]
