Memory droid
The Memory droid was created by SoroSuub as a mobile information storage device. It was black[2] and hexagonal, standing about 2 meters high[3]. While standard computer information banks could hold as much information, the advantage of a memory droid was that it could be packed and moved for evacuation very quickly.[1] Luke Skywalker observed three such droids at the New Republic Defense Fleet listening post on Utharis when visiting it during the Black Fleet Crisis.[2]
