Desert sport skiff
The desert sport skiff was a small repulsor sport-craft, suitable for short trips and stunts. It came standard with turbo thrusters and mid-sized repulsors, though the thrust capacity was limited to 150 km per hour, for safety reasons.
Luke Skywalker owned one of these vehicles during his youth on Tatooine, where he bought it at a cheap price from a group of Jawa traders. Subsequently, he and Biggs Darklighter heavily modified the skiff, adding an afterburner to the meglifts and three high powered blasters for defense. Luke was able to achieve a top speed of 400 km per hour, far exceeding the manufacturer's limit.
Behind the scenes
The desert sport skiff first appeared as a vehicle in the 1995 Star Wars: The Power of the Force toy line, packaged with Luke Skywalker. The toy was later released as a vehicle used by Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars toy line.
