Defender (title)

A Defender was a ceremonial role in Bitthævrian society. Individuals in a duel would chose a Guardian to act as their Defender whose role was to step in and stop unwanted interference during the duel. In practice, they were often called upon to witness the battle and ensure it was conducted in an honorable manner.
