This article is about the comic strip. You may be looking for the working title Revenge of the Jedi, from which the comic strip was named after, and which developed into the 1983 film Return of the Jedi.

Revenge of the Jedi is a comic strip written by Archie Goodwin and illustrated by Al Williamson. It was published by the Los Angeles Times Syndicate from November 1982 to January 1983. It has also been posted online on Hyperspace. The comic documents several events, including Admiral Gial Ackbar and the Mon Calamari joining the Rebel Alliance and Darth Vader taking command of his recently built Super Star Destroyer, Executor.

Development

Revenge of the Jedi introduced the character of Admiral Ackbar. At the time the strip was created, Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi was still in production.

Revenge of the Jedi was a working title of the third installment of the original Star Wars trilogy. The word "Revenge" was ultimately used in the title of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
