David West Reynolds is the author of multiple Star Wars reference books. According to The Phantom Menace: The Visual Dictionary, Reynolds "earned his Ph.D. in archaeology at the University of Michigan. [He is a] lecturer, veteran of field expeditions and author of scientific archaeological publications ... He approaches the world of Star Wars like ancient Rome or Egypt, considering it 'a culture from another time and place to explore.' Reynolds lives in Marin County, California."

He wore the Boba Fett armor at the opening event for Star Wars at the Smithsonian.[1]
