"Music! You uncivilized barbarian! Music! I have the music of Maxa Jandovar, and Orin Mersai. M'lar'Nkai'kambric…Lubrics, Aishara, Dyll"
―Kardue'sai'Malloc, to Boba Fett[1]

The musician Ovido Aishara produced works of some renown. During the reign of the Galactic Empire, Aishara's music was suppressed and banned by the censorial regime. By the time the New Republic was in power, however, a chance came for the musician's work to be heard once again.

History

Ovido Aishara was a musician whose work was suppressed by the Galactic Empire,[2] an authoritarian government which came to power in 19 BBY.[3] Despite the Empire's success in suppressing Aishara's music, recordings of the musician's work eventually came into the possession of the fugitive Devaronian war criminal Kardue'sai'Malloc. Once Malloc was finally caught by bounty hunter Boba Fett, the Devaronian made his captor promise to sell his music collection, including the works of Aishara, to a contact, in order that it could be distributed once again to the galaxy.[1]

Personality and traits

Ovido Aishara was a musician whose work was deemed to be a threat to an authoritarian regime such as the Galactic Empire.[2]

Behind the scenes

An unseen character, Ovido Aishara was first mentioned in the short story Empire Blues: The Devaronian's Tale, written by Daniel Keys Moran and published in 1995. Keys Moran later made reference to Aishara once again in The Last One Standing: The Tale of Boba Fett, though in both short stories the sex or species of the individual went unrevealed.
