Coruscant Charm Signing was a method of giving out signs and intent. Much like the language of flowers, where giving the precise flower, number and arrangement has a specific meaning.
It was confined to the social class of Imperial officer trainees from wealthy families and their circles. The practice came out of Coruscant long before the rise of the Empire.
