A compression/desiccation chamber was used to process organic materials into food concentrates by pressurizing the material, cooling it, and removing all the moisture. It could also be used to preserve game animals as trophies. Imperial Security Bureau interrogators used a portable compression/desiccation chamber to kill the Ithorians Guerglenar and Drov, back-up singers for Crying Dawn Singer.
