Comm scanner
A comm scanner[1] or communication signal scanner[2] was a piece of communications equipment that monitored frequencies, such as emergency channels. They were used by law enforcement to monitor situations such as fatal accidents.[1] Comm scanners had difficulty detecting transmissions from PTP links due to the low power it used and the fact that the technology was antiquated by modern standards.[2]
