This template is to be used for citing Tumblr posts.

Usage

Copy the template code below and paste it into the appropriate place in an article. Fill in the required fields plus as many of the optional fields as necessary and remove any that you don't use.

Required parameters

|tumblrurl= Subdomain of the URL of the author's Tumblr blog such as the jasonfry subdomain of the URL https://jasonfry.tumblr.com/ used in the below examples.
|tumblrname= Name of the author's Tumblr blog.

Optional parameters

|date= Date the Tumblr post was published online. In the format YYYY-MM-DD.
|quote= Relevant quote from the Tumblr post. Users are encouraged to utilize this optional field in the template whenever possible, especially when citing canonical information, as Tumblr posts are subject to permanent removal at any time.
|url= URL of the Tumblr post, minus the domain (and subdomain) name. (For example, if citing the post http://jasonfry.tumblr.com/post/24614452839/eg-to-warfare-endnotes-pt-10, only put post/24614452839/eg-to-warfare-endnotes-pt-10 in this field, without including http://jasonfry.tumblr.com/).
|postname= Name of the Tumblr post being cited.

For use in External links sections and similar, leave url and postname empty.

Backup links

Instructions for providing a backup link

In accordance with our Sourcing policy, all links to external sites must include a link to a backup version, preferably using Internet Archive. Instances that do not include one of the following parameters will result in the page being placed in the maintenance category. Please only use one of the following parameters.

This parameter uses the timestamp feature of Internet Archive. The URL supplied earlier in the template, along with archivedate, will provide a link to Internet Archive.
|archiveurl=https://archive.is/EfD8P
If Internet Archive does not work for the link in question, you can use archiveurl to provide a full URL to another backup website, such as archive.is.

If none of the archiving sites work, then provide a link to a screenshot of the page, uploaded to Wookieepedia, as per Wookieepedia:Mofferences/June 29, 2014.
|nobackup=1
If no backup link can be found for content that is no longer available, this parameter can be used. If the content is still available, you can screenshot and upload it to Wookieepedia instead.
|nolive=1
If the original content is no longer available, this parameter can be used, which will make the template add "content now obsolete;" to the citation. This may also mean a backup link can no longer be provided, and therefore may be used as well as |nobackup=1. Some citation templates such as {{SWArchive}} link to older content that is known to be no longer available, and therefore automatically default to |nolive=1 without the need to add the parameter manually.

Note that for citation templates using a central repository (/Archive subpage), archivedate values must be added to the repository, and not on the individual instance of those templates.
