Description

This template is designed to help users properly cite Legends dating for episodes of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series. Note that this template will not work for all 121 episodes of the series—just for episodes whose dating takes deductive (possibly complicated) reasoning to establish.

Usage

Use the following code, making sure that it is properly formatted as a reference note. "EPISODE NUMBER" should be a three-digit number, the first digit being the season number and the other two digits being the individual episode number, e.g. 105 for "Rookies" (Season 1, Episode 5).

Click the "Show" button below to see examples of what the template will display for different episodes, arranged chronologically as per the official episode order. Exceptions are listed under #Errors.

Episodes 216, 116

Using <ref>{{TCWdates|216}}</ref> ("Cat and Mouse") as an example, the template will return:

The New Essential Chronology dates Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones to 22 BBY, while The Essential Reader's Companion dates the Star Wars: The Clone Wars film to 22 BBY. Since StarWars.com Star Wars: The Clone Wars Chronological Episode Order on StarWars.com (backup link not verified!) places "Cat and Mouse" between both films, it can be concluded that "Cat and Mouse" also takes place in 22 BBY.

Episode 301

Using <ref>{{TCWdates|301}}</ref> ("Clone Cadets") will return:

The Essential Reader's Companion dates the Star Wars: The Clone Wars film to 22 BBY, while The Official Star Wars Fact File Part 24 (22 BBY 85–86, The Struggle for Toydaria) dates "Supply Lines" to 22 BBY. Since StarWars.com Star Wars: The Clone Wars Chronological Episode Order on StarWars.com (backup link not verified!) places "Clone Cadets" between the Star Wars: The Clone Wars film and "Supply Lines," it can be concluded that "Clone Cadets" also takes place in 22 BBY.

Episodes 105, 107–111

Using <ref>{{TCWdates|105}}</ref> ("Rookies") as an example, the template will return:

The Essential Reader's Companion dates the Star Wars: The Clone Wars film and The Clone Wars: Secret Missions 4: Guardians of the Chiss Key to 22 BBY. In addition, in Guardians of the Chiss Key, Count Dooku mentions a recent run-in with a group of Weequay pirates, which refers in part to the events of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars episode "The Gungan General." Since StarWars.com Star Wars: The Clone Wars Chronological Episode Order on StarWars.com (backup link not verified!) places "Rookies" between The Clone Wars film and "The Gungan General," it can be concluded that "Rookies" also takes place in 22 BBY.

Episode 106

Using <ref>{{TCWdates|106}}</ref> ("Downfall of a Droid") will return:

"Downfall of a Droid" takes place within the time frame of the events of The Clone Wars: Wild Space, which The Essential Reader's Companion dates to 22 BBY. It can be thus concluded that "Downfall of a Droid" also takes place in 22 BBY.

Episodes 112

Using <ref>{{TCWdates|112}}</ref> ("The Gungan General") will return:

The Essential Reader's Companion dates the Star Wars: The Clone Wars film to 22 BBY, while also dating The Clone Wars: Secret Missions 4: Guardians of the Chiss Key—which takes place sometime after "The Gungan General"—to 22 BBY. It can thus be concluded that "The Gungan General" takes place in 22 BBY.

Episodes 113–115, 117–121, 201–203, 217–219

Using <ref>{{TCWdates|117}}</ref> ("Blue Shadow Virus") as an example, the template will return:

The Official Star Wars Fact File Part 21 (21 BBY 3–6, Intrigues in the Outer Rim) dates both "The Deserter" and "The Mandalore Plot" to 21 BBY.
