Mechtech Illustrated was a publication focused on droids, mechanized operational aids and other modern robotics.
Their review of the R2-series astromech droid was extremely favorable, describing it as the one of the most versatile multi-purpose droids available, citing among others its capabilities for starship repair, security access, and navicomputer interface.[1]
They published a specially harsh review of the R5-series astromech droid shortly after its release calling it "a meter-tall stack of the worst business decisions you could possibly want".[2]
