John Wayne
John Wayne (May 26, 1907 – June 11, 1979[1]) was an American actor. His last role in a film was as the voice of the character Garindan in the 1977 original trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. Obtained through stock audio, Wayne's voice was processed and used as part of Garindan's dialogue, which was spoken in the whirring syllables of the Kubazian language. Wayne's roles in Western films such as The Searchers and True Grit inspired the cantina scene and the character of Han Solo in A New Hope.[2] His grandson Brendan Wayne also acted in Star Wars.
