A nanny droid, child care droid, or minder droid[1] was a droid specifically built and programmed for the care of children. Many nanny droids were covered with synthskin, which mimicked the mother's scent and warmth. Also standard in nanny droid design was an internal reservoir that could hold milk. Child care droids were one of the four primary classifications of Third-degree droids.
Some nanny droids were equipped with weaponry to defend their charges if the need should arise.
