Leland Chee stated on February 23, 2007 in the "Welcome some BCaT VIPs" thread on the StarWars.com message boards that Mindar is to be treated as a misspelling of Mindor, as all other sources at the time spell the planet's name with an 'o'.

This misspelling is given a canonical backing in Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor, when at one point Han refers to the planet as "Mindar" and Chewbacca corrects him, prompting Han to retort that he'll call the planet what he likes.

This article is about the Inner Rim planet. You may be looking for Mindori, a mining settlement on Kallistas.

Mindor, also known as Taspan I, was a planet in the Inner Rim with vast landmasses covered in grasslands. It had little to offer the galactic community other than its landmasses, which would have been ideal for farming. Mindor had four medium sized moons in very close proximity to the planet.

History

Leia Organa and Han Solo shared a stale meal on the field after a battle, surrounded by dead stormtroopers. Han Solo later recalled the harsh battle when he kidnapped Leia shortly before their wedding.[1]

Behind the scenes

In The Courtship of Princess Leia, Mindor is misspelled as "Mindar."

The PC game Star Wars: Rebellion mistakenly places Mindor in the Kanchen sector, which is actually located in the Core Worlds. Star Wars: Rebellion also misspells the planet as "Mindar."
