A surveillance camera, surveil-cam,[1] surveillance imager[2] or cam was a security device that could be used to spy on people, or to look after a place. They could be disguised into a number of ingenious locations. Chay Praysh used them throughout his fort to keep things in order. Mara Jade was able to pass undetected in the fort as she flung mud into the lense of the camera.
During the battle of Altyr V, Kyle Katarn infiltrated an Imperial base disguised as an asteroid, from which the Empire dispatched its invasion force. At some point, Katarn gained access to a surveillance camera control post, utilizing the surveilance cams installed around the base to get his bearings.
Surveillance cams could also be independently mobile, allowing them to follow a suspected criminal for law enforcement agencies.[1]
