A holocam in the Senate
"Holocams are like bureaucrats. They're everywhere. Can't escape them, so you ignore them."
Iella Wessiri Antilles[src]

A holocamera, or simply holocam, was a device that could record holographic images and sound. Some holocams were fitted with small repulsorlifts and limited artificial intelligence. Holocams could be used in security applications and would come in all manner of all shapes and configurations.

Cam droids served as roving cameras for covering large events, and were used to record anything from Senate sessions to podraces.

The Boonta Eve Classic was filmed by fast-moving cams that transmitted imagery of the podrace to handheld viewscreens carried by spectators. Furthermore, many law enforcement agencies used holocam droids to record incidents involving their officers, including the Sector Rangers.[1]
