Gareth was the Shalamite king of Shalam in 19 ABY. A keen laro player, he traveled to Coruscant where he cheated at the card game but got out-swindled by Han Solo when he lost to the then-general. Leia Organa Solo later visited Gareth with C-3PO and her children for a two-week long treaty signing.
