Design An Alien was a contest held by Star Wars Galaxy Magazine challenging readers to design an original Star Wars alien or creature. The contest was announced in Star Wars Galaxy Magazine 3, with winners revealed in Star Wars Galaxy Magazine 7. Additional honorable mentions were included in issues 8–10 within the magazine's "Galactic Bazaar" department.
Leland Chee stated that the aliens published for this contest were canon—since rebranded Legends—though in the event of any discrepancies with another source, that source would likely supersede the contest entry.[1]

Are these aliens canon? [...] Yes, though any text discrepencies with other sources would likely to superceded by the other source."
