Shine On, Harvest Moon was a roleplaying game adventure idea included in Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game, published by West End Games in 1987. The adventure centered on a group of Alliance operatives on the planet Sarrahban attempting to get a freighter of refugees off-world in the face of an Imperial invasion.

Plot

The Sarrahban system has maintained a state of neutrality in the Galactic Civil War despite diplomatic overtures by the Rebel Alliance. The Galactic Empire sends a squadron to invade the world. A freighter, the Harvest Moon, lifts off Sarrahban carrying Alliance refugees, grain, and the planet's reserves of stabilized ytterbium. A wing of TIE/LN starfighters engages the Harvest Moon and its escort of T-16 skyhoppers. Although the Imperial force is repulsed, the Harvest Moon's drives are damaged and the vessel is forced back down to Sarrahban.

The Rebels rescue the survivors of the crashed ship, treating the injured and searching for food in nearby native villages. The Rebels are then forced to cross the ocean in their skyhoppers to the closest spaceport to recover parts to repair the Harvest Moon. Returning to the crash site, the Rebels repair the ship just as an Imperial cruiser arrives searching for the freighter. With the ship repaired, the Harvest Moon once again braves an Imperial gauntlet to escape the Sarrahban system.

Behind the scenes

"Shine On, Harvest Moon" is the first in a series of ten adventure ideas presented in the first edition rulebook of Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. A shorter adventure idea is presented where the natives of Sarrahban give information to the characters on a crashed freighter, offering to help the players find it in exchange for travel off-world.[1]
