Armored eels were a species of eel native to the sluggish rivers of the moon Yavin 4.[2] One armored eel was present when Naga Sadow arrived on Yavin 4 following his defeat during the Great Hyperspace War.[4] During the Imperial Period, naturalist Dr'uun Unnh discovered the species. He observed and sketched the eel but didn't record detailed characteristics before his death during the Battle of Yavin.[2]
