A credit chit or cred chit was an updated type of credit chip, manufactured by the Commerce Enhancement Corporation.[source?] They never became widely used, though, partly because they were designed to represent small amounts of credits and so were worth far less than a standard credit chip.[source?]

The credit chit was created during the latter days of the Old Republic, sometime between 50 BBY and 25 BBY.[source?] As the credit chip was becoming common and too dull (in their opinion), the Commerce Enhancement Corporation decided to alter the credit chips slightly, resulting in the credit chit.[source?]

The credit chit was rarely used within the Core worlds or the Inner Rim.[source?] They could occasionally be found in use on planets in the Outer Rim, though only by the extremely poor because credit chits were only worth about a hundredth of a credit chip.[source?]
