A computer core was a type of computer utilized aboard the second Death Star. Imperial Supervisor Gurdun was overseeing the transfer of one to the Death Star's construction site above Endor when the transport was attacked by IG-88A. After the assassin droid killed Gurdun and his stormtrooper escorts, IG-88A uploaded himself to the computer core. Once it was delivered to the Death Star and installed, IG-88A essentially became the superweapon.[1]
