During the reign of the Empire, stormtroopers could often be found protecting various officials of the Empire. Also, Gamorreans were often hired as bodyguards.
Several members of the Noghri species served as bodyguards for members of the Galactic Empire and New Republic. One Noghri bodyguard, Rukh, was Grand Admiral Thrawn's bodyguard before Rukh killed Thrawn during the Battle of Bilbringi.
