A '''voxchip''' was a [[Computer/Legends|computer]] chip that regulated speaking in machines.

Voxchips, often confused with [[Vocabulator/Legends|vocabulators]], were the liaison between the processing unit of the [[Droid/Legends|droid]] (a [[Verbobrain/Legends|verbobrain]], for example,) and the vocabulator, or vocoder. Voxchips translated the intended speech of the droid from a [[Binary/Legends|binary]] language into a natural language, such as [[Galactic Basic Standard/Legends|Galactic Basic Standard]], which would then be emitted through the vocoder. Voxchips were neither vocoders, nor verbobrains, but were crucial to the utilization of both hardware items, especially in conjunction with each other.
