A '''parabelt''' was a propulsion harness system that was strapped around the mid-section of its wearer. Attached to the anterior side of the harness were small, twin [[Repulsorlift/Legends|repulsorlift]] engines that allowed the wearer to fly short distances within a breathable atmosphere. Its form and function were similar to that of a [[life-jet]].

In [[3 ABY/Legends|3 ABY]], [[Prince/Legends|Princess]] [[Leia Organa Solo|Leia]] used a parabelt to infiltrate the [[Golrath Station|smelting plant]] located on the planet, [[Golrath/Legends|Golrath]]. Imperial officer [[Lieutenant/Legends|Lieutenant]] [[Mils Giel]] trapped Leia inside of the base's reactor core and held her at gunpoint. Leia activated her parabelt's rocket engines, distracting Giel long enough for her to effect her escape.
