==Plot summary==
Feltipern Trevagg, a [[Gotal/Legends|Gotal]] tax collector, is working when he meets M'iiyoom Onith, a female [[H'nemthe (species)/Legends|H'nemthe]]. He is immediately attracted to her. She has missed her flight, and he says that he can get her another tomorrow. Then he offers to take her out to lunch, where he confesses that he loves her. She is happy, and eagerly agrees to marry him, not knowing he really only wants her for a night. As he passes his office, he sees his co-worker [[Predne Balu]], who angrily tries to tell him something: a warning. He does not listen and heads off with his lover. That night, Feltipern is devoured by M'iiyoom as part of a H'nemthe mating ritual. The next day, when his body is found, [[Wuher/Legends|Wuher]] and Predne can only stare, amazed he did not know of the H'nemthe's curious mating ritual.
