==History==
The NOVA project was launched some time after the [[Battle of Yavin/Legends|Battle of Yavin]]. It was developed in the [[Santhe/Sienar Technologies Headquarters]] on the planet [[Lianna/Legends|Lianna]] and was supervised by [[Phillip Santhe]] himself. [[Galactic Emperor/Legends|Emperor]] [[Palpatine/Legends|Palpatine]] assigned [[Lord/Legends|Lord]] [[Rodin Hlian Verpalion]] as overseer of the project.

The first steps of the project were very promising. The tests were conducted from the [[Imperial-class Star Destroyer/Legends|''Imperial''-class Star Destroyer]] [[Dominator (Imperial-class)|''Dominator'']]. The technology was so effective that the ship completely lost control with its cloaked [[Probe droid/Legends|probe droids]].

But the project was eventually abandoned. During a reception held in Verpalion's honor, a team of [[Alliance to Restore the Republic/Legends|Rebel]] operatives managed to steal a copy of the NOVA plans and sabotage the originals. When the device was finally tested during Verpalion's inspection, it failed to cloak the test ship, leaving Rodin furious and blaming Philip Santhe for the failure.
