After the [[Imperial-class Star Destroyer/Legends|''Imperial''-class Star Destroyer]] [[Intrepid (Imperial I-class)|''Intrepid's'']] [[Hyperdrive/Legends|hyperdrive]] was damaged in an accidental collision with an [[EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate/Legends|EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate]], leaving it stranded in the [[Circarpous system/Legends|Circarpous system]], ''Kiam'' group was sent to deliver replacement parts.

The [[Alliance to Restore the Republic/Legends|Rebel Alliance]] sent an [[T-65 X-wing starfighter/Legends|X-wing]], flown by [[Keyan Farlander/Legends|Keyan Farlander]], escorted by two [[R-22 Spearhead starfighter|R-22 Spearheads]], to prevent the supplies being delivered. Despite the ''Intrepid'' launching [[TIE Series|TIE starfighters]] against the [[Battle of the Circarpous system (Galactic Civil War)|attacking]] Rebels, Farlander, under orders to destroy the freighters carrying the hyperdrive parts, eliminated ''Kiam III'' with [[Proton torpedo/Legends|proton torpedoes]] and ''Kiam V'' with his [[Laser cannon/Legends|laser cannon]], before leaving.

''Kiam I'', ''Kiam II'' and ''Kiam IV'', which were carrying [[Sensor/Legends|sensors]], supplies, and machinery respectively, were not destroyed in the attack.
